Itinerary
Day 1 - Calais to Troyes
After a meet and greet at EuroTunnel and a little train trip to France. We then jump straight on to the motorway for the first 1.5hrs. Exiting the motorway we will be checking out the Route Nationals heading south between Paris and Reims. Stopping in Soissons for lunch. Soisson is one of the most ancient towns in France, dating back to Julius Caesar B.C. 57 when the town surrendered to him. Fun filled back roads will be our route down to Troyes for our first night together, some nice food, drink and chat as we start to make new friends.
Day 2 - Troyes to Grenoble
Today it is south all the way down through the Parc Naturel Haut-Jura on the France/Switzerland border with its whisper quiet villages and fantastic mid mountain roads, past Geneva and on down to Grenoble. Great city for a good night out.
Day 3/4/5 - Vercors Gorge Ride Out Days
These are all ride out days that are filled with those laugh out loud kinda roads. Riding the Vercors with its wild and stunning landscapes, tall limestone cliffs, deep gorges, chasms and caves, high plateaus and green valleys – the vistas are around every corner. Its fill of fast sweepers, easy riding fun with a few technical sections thrown in for the fun of it. You really just do not know where to look next.
Day 6 - Grenoble to Troyes
This is the start of the north bound journey home. Up through the Parc Naturel Regional de Chartreuse, along the east shore of Lac du Bourget pass Geneva into the Parc Naturel Haut-Jura and up to Troyes. A stunning mid mountain route all day long.
Day 7 - Troyes to Calais
Troyes to Calais and all but the last 1.5hrs on RN roads cutting through the traffic empty beautiful French countryside. What a great way to finish a fantastic tour
