Itinerary
Day 1 - Meeting point - Brittany Ferries Plymouth
Over night crossing from Plymouth to Santander. We book inside two berth cabins on both crossings. If you would like a different cabin then we are happy to try and accommodate where possible.
Day 2 - Santander to Miranda de Ebro
We dock in Santander early afternoon and head directly inland through Cantabria and La Rioja on the way to the Pyrenees. This route gets into the mountains as quickly as possible, so you will get some good riding to start the trip
Day 3 - Miranda de Ebro - Oloron De Marie
After enjoying some Spanish Hospitality last night we start the day riding through the beautiful rolling Spanish hill on smooth flowing roads on our way to Pamplona where we stop for lunch. Its onto the fabulous N135 which takes us into the Pyrenees Mountains and across the border into France for our second night.
Day 4 - Oloron St Marie - Sort
Its a big day in the mountains today riding over nice Cols in total with the highlight being the Col du Tourmalet, made famous by the Tour de France, and its the highest pass in the French Pyrenees and has featured in every edition of the race. Lunch will be taken at the summit. The afternoon run is back over the Spanish Border to enjoy the Spanish Pyrenees.
Day 5 - Sort - Ripoll
Starting the day in Spain we cross into Andorra riding the Col d'Ordino and visiting the Vieoing Platform at Roc del Quer. Back into France and then back into Spain to finish the day on the awesome N260 into Rippoll and more fantastic Spanish hospitality for our two nights stay.
Day 6 - Ripoll - Ride Out Day
A variety of road types today , some fast sweepers mixed with great twisty tarmac as the ride out heads to the Mediterranean Coast for lunch, alternatively have a day off the bike exploring Ripoll.
Day 7 - Ripoll - Ainsa
A big day of riding the stunning Spanish Pyrenees. Today has every type of riding you could imagine, add to that is lunch and a visit to a motorcycle museum and beautiful old town centre of Ainsa with a castle over the the town centre, and a main square full of good restaurants.
Day 8 - Ainsa - Murgia
We start the day riding the last of the Spanish Pyrenees then drop down towards Pamplona before enjoying the Spanish rolling country side as we make our way to Murgia and our last night in Spain.
Day 9 - Murgia - Santander
A relaxed last day enjoy the smooth, twisty, empty country roads of Northern Spain as we head to Santander and our late afternoon overnight ferry back to Plymouth.
