Itinerary

Day 1 - Calais to Alsace Lorraine

speed 300 Miles

The tour group will assemble outside the Eurotunnel Terminal main building, where you will be met by your tour guide. After introductions and a quick briefing we will make our way to the train.

Although the day starts out with 80 miles of motorways don’t be lulled into a false sense of security. We are only making up some time while we head towards some of the fun twisty roads.

After lunch we head through the plains of the Champagne region heading north towards the Vosges Mountains in the Alsace Lorraine region of France, here stopping overnight.

Day 2 - Alsace Lorraine to Oberwold

speed 280 Miles

After breakfast and the real fun begins. The Vosges Mountains. Hairpins, technically twisty roads and amazing scenery is definitely worth getting out of bed for. Following Route des Crete, past the peaks of Le Hohneck and Le Grand Ballon, reaching heights of 1450m, we will enjoy a day every biker dreams of. Fantastic twisty, steep roads through some of the most beautiful panoramic views reaching as far as Jura and the French Alps.

Once out of the Vosges we will cross the border into Switzerland near Basel. We then ride the east shoreline of Lake Zugersee and the stunning Lake Lucerne before arriving at the famous Furka Pass, with a height of some 2436m and stunning snow capped mountain views. It all starts with a single carriageway hairpins opening up towards the top for some of the most spectacular alpine views, with the Grimsel Pass climbing up the rock face out of the valley on our right hand side. After a photo opp at the top we make our way down the south side of the Furka into the valley below and to our hotel for the night.

A cold beer, glass of wine, good food and company awaits us at our second stop, staying overnight amongst the beauty of the alpines. This is what touring the Alps on your motorcycle is all about.

Day 3 - Oberwold to Davos

speed 200 Miles

“Probably the best day of the tour!” We head through 6 of our 13 mountain passes and embark on a day that you will remember forever.

The first of the 6 is the Grimsel Pass, smooth surface, wide turns and not to mention the stunning lake at the top. Next up is the Susten Pass, which is a classic alpine pass, hairpins, fast sweepers and tunnels, awesome fun on a motorcycle! The Gottheard Pass is next, snaking open sided tunnels, hairpins and vista to take your breath away. Our lunch stop for the day is overlooking Airolo, just stunning.

Following lunch we head for the San Bernardino Pass which runs parallel to the Italian Border. Its famous for short and tight hairpins, point and squirt and rhythm building riding. Fantastic fun, if not a little hard work. But wait, there is more! Splugen Pass at 2118m and finishing with the Albula Pass, which runs us straight up into our hotel for the next two night. What a day to remember.

Day 4 - Stelvio Pass Ride Out

speed 200 Miles

With the remaining 7 of the 13 passes to cover today, we hope you slept like a baby.

After a great nights entertainment in Switzerland its straight up the Fluela Pass (2383m, and my personal favourite) linking onto the Ofen Pass and into Italy for the world famous Stelvio Pass (2757m), the second highest pass in the Alps and is regarded by many as one of the best riding roads in the world. Over 50 hairpins to negotiate, this will test your riding abilities. After lunch at the summit we make our way down the south side into Bormio and Livigno, both large skiing resorts. Over the Passo Del Foscagno (2315m), Bernina Pass (23287m) into St Moritz and onto the Albula Pass (2315m).

This is what motorcycle touring dreams are made of.

Day 7 - Metz to Calais

speed 280 Miles

After a night of sharing stories, a few beers and great food we wake to start our journey home. Although there will be a motorway today, do not lose hope, we will spend all but the last hour on some great biking roads as we make our way across Northern France.
