Black Forest Motorcycle Tour

The group will assemble outside the Eurotunnel Terminal main building in Folkestone. You will be met by your tour guide and will be given a quick briefing before making our way to the train.

Today will be about taking the quickest route to some more interesting roads. To do this we will need to stick to the motorways for about the first 80 miles. After a short break we will head for the twisty road of the Ardennes region on our way to our final destination, Metz.

After breakfast we will head via the twisty roads of the Northern Vosges Mountains to the Palatinate Forest. Crossing the Rhine we head into Baden Baden, a spa town that is on our way to the B500. This road truly delivers it all. Unblemished tarmac, technical twists and turns, fast sweeping bends and great views across the Black Forest. We will see the world’s largest cuckoo clock in Schonach before finding our way to our hotel in Freiburg where we will stop for two nights.

After our first night in Freiburg we head out and take in Lake Titisee then Lake Schluchsee on the B500 once again and head south all the way to Koblenz on the banks of the Rhine River. For lunch, we pop into Switzerland and enjoy some back road twisty fun on our way to the Rhinefalls, the largest waterfalls in Europe. Feldberg after lunch. At 1493 metres high, Feldberg is the highest mountain in Germany outside the Alps. We take this in before heading back to our hotel in a picturesque old quarter of Freiburg. The area includes a Cathedral, quaint historic squares and many a restaurant or café to choose from.

We leave the great city of Freiburg and head into France and the Vosges to ride up the Grand Ballon on the Famous Route des Cretes. Then it is more sweeping bends as we make our way to Nancy on the amazing Route National with very little traffic and racetrack smooth tarmac, a grin from ear to ear.

We start this day heading west into the Champagne capital of the world, Epernay. Lunch is taken on the Avenue de Champagne overlooking Moet de Chandon House and Museum. After lunch we ride the route du Champagne, with its rolling hills full of vineyards as far as the eye can see. Then it is onto the old Circuit du Reims – Gueux. This is the old GP Circuit and is a great photo op. We then hop onto the A26 to Calais in time for our late afternoon train to GB.
